Our Photo Story - Water for Life
Each child from the class had to write a caption for a photo that was taken at the Trout Hatchery. These were then published and stapled to our wall in the classroom. We then decided to record our voices on Photo Story so that the parents could hear how fantastic their children are at reading and speaking.

Here we are performing our song at Junior assembley
This is the finished product of all our hard work and practise with Mrs Stevens. Frustratingly, the speakers weren't going but we think we sound much better without the music - you can hear our fantastic singing.

Our trip to the Turangi Trout Hatchery
Room 14 and Room 13 went to visit the Turangi Trout Centre on Thursday 17 March. We went on a bus to the Trout Hatchery because there weren't enough seats in a car. The bus was really slow because there were too many people on it. We had a fantastic time learning about a number of things. We learnt that for trout to survive in our rivers the water needs to be clean, clear and cool. We saw little fish and big trout in the Waihukuhuka stream. The boy trout are called Jacks and the girl trout are called Hens. Trout don't like dirty water because if dirt gets in their gills they will die. Trout lay their eggs in the Waihukuhuka stream because it is clean, clear and cool. The green algae on the rocks at the bottom of the water is eaten by the bugs and the trout eat the bugs. After our big day we went back to school on the big green and white bus. We felt tired on the bus and Terry fell asleep. Josh had to wake Terry up when we got back to school.

'Beat the Feet'
Hi Parents/Caregivers,
We thought you might like to see us in this video doing Beat the Feet. We do this every morning before our maths. This helps us to get our brains and bodies ready for our learning - PLUS, it's a lot of fun!
Thank you,
